Peanut Butter Balls!

I remember when I was younger, my Mom would make Peanut Butter Balls at Christmas time every year. They were my favorite Christmas cookie of all time! Now that I live far, far away from my Mom (sniff… tear!), I make them for my own little family at Christmas time. And every time I do make them, it just reminds me of being a kid again :).

I was roaming around Walmart today and was looking in the Christmas aisle and was thinking that I should probably get something for the boys’ teacher… as I was thinking about what to get, I saw some Christmas tins and it suddenly dawned on me… Why don’t I just make some peanut butter balls and put them in this cute little tin? BRILLIANT!!

Low and behold… Peanut Butter Balls!! And the tin was only a DOLLAR!!

Don’t they look delicious? Is your mouth watering yet? Cuz you should know… they ARE delicious!

Ok, ok… I’ll share the recipe 🙂 But ONLY cuz I’m nice! Haha!

Peanut Butter Balls

1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup margarine or butter (DON’T use tub margarine or light margarine~doesn’t work)
4 cups powdered sugar (that’s one 16 oz. box)
1 cup graham cracker crumbs (that’s approx. 18 squares or one package out of a box)

Mix all the above ingredients together.  Roll in small balls and refrigerate for at least one hour.  If it seems too dry and won’t roll well add and mix in a little more peanut butter.

Melt in double boiler: 1 (12 oz.)  package chocolate chips and **1/2 square paraffin.  Keep warm on stove.  With tooth pick dip balls in chocolate mixture, hold over pan for a bit so the excess chocolate drips off and refrigerate (add a little dab of chocolate to top of each ball to cover the toothpick hole…do this before you refrigerate).

**1/2 square of paraffin measures 2 ½” x 2 ½”  OR use half of a 5” x 1 ¼” squared cake of wax.

**I like to place the rolled balls onto a baking sheet with wax paper on top of it… the wax paper works great for keeping the dipped chocolate from sticking to the baking sheet too.

**If you’re like me and don’t have a double boiler, you can use a large pot with a little bit of water with a smaller pot inside the large pot.

So there you have it… the best Christmas cookies/dessert you will ever have!! 🙂 Enjoy!

Tuesdays Talent

I love etsy! There are some great shops and great people that I have met during my time on etsy. I met this girl through etsy’s BNS’s (if you don’t know what a BNS is, I’ll try and explain it some other time). Her name is Michaela… I know her as Buttons :). Her shop is AWESOME!! If you ever get a chance to check out her shop (ButtonsandYarnOhMy), you should! The stuff she makes is awesome and very well priced too :).  She has a blog too that you should check out as well!!

She knits scarves, cowls, coffee cozy’s, dish cloths, bracelets, and headbands! Here is one of her items she has in her shop now…

So be sure to check out her shop! I know she has some awesome deals going on right now too, so if you see something you just can’t live without, you can get a great deal!

I am going to try and feature an etsy shop every Tuesday… hence the title “Tuesdays Talent”.

Also, if you like the items in my shop or just plain like my shop, feel free to share with your friends… I don’t mind :).

Hello world!

I am now blogging on WordPress!! I will do my best to keep it updated… I’ve tried doing the blogging before and it didn’t work out so well. But I’m really trying to promote my etsy shop more so I can start getting more sales :). Do any of you have any tricks or tips on how to promote your etsy shop? I would LOVE to hear them!  I’m all about promoting my shop for FREE, so whatever tips or tricks you can give me, I would greatly appreciate them  :).

My Esty Shop

I thought I would share a little bit about what I sell in my etsy shop. I love to sew and I love to crochet, so why not sell the items I make? I love coming up with new items to include in my shop, so I tend to have a little of this and a little of that!

Some favorites in my shop are my crochet hair bows and tea bag wallets. I have started making beautiful cowl scarves, fingerless gloves, and ear warmers for the winter! And the newest item to my shop are SKULL RINGS!! These rings are so cool!! We make the skulls out of resin and had been selling them as buttons and cabochons, but have now decided to make them into rings!

Here are some of my items I have in my shop…

Snow!!

We got snow on Saturday… it melted some… and then last night we got about 6 inches more and it’s still snowing!! I don’t mind snow for a short period of time, but when it lasts more than a few days, I hate it!  What I do like about snow is that it’s very pretty and it makes everything outside seem so quiet. What I don’t like about snow is that it’s FREEZING!! And I always feel trapped in the house because I hate driving in the snow.

Of course the boys didn’t have school today, which they love!  And my dog Wicket LOVES the snow! She runs around and scoops the snow into her mouth as she’s running… she’s such a goof ball!

I’m hoping the snow goes away very soon though! I have to drive the boys to the airport on Saturday so they can spend Christmas with their Nana in Texas. I would rather not have to drive in the snow or get stuck at the airport due to the snow!!

The picture is of our front yard… pretty right?
